NEW YORK – Amita Health, a health system in Illinois, has partnered with Syapse to build a real-world data platform that integrates genomic and clinical data and can help advance precision care for its cancer patients.
The secure data platform will be advanced within a multi-year collaboration between Amita Health Cancer Institute and Syapse, a precision medicine-focused real-world data company. The information in the database will be used by Amita's clinical, operational, and research teams.
Based on the information in the platform, clinicians will be able to identify personalized treatment strategies and clinical trials for patients. Amita's 33 oncology sites will also be able to use the real-world data for evidence-based learning and program benchmarking.
"This partnership reflects our commitment to the communities we serve through innovation and excellence in the delivery of comprehensive patient-centered care," Stuart Marcus, Amita's chief clinical officer, said in a statement. "We believe that the latest, most advanced technology, including increased access to clinical trials and advanced therapeutics, should be offered close to home to make patients' cancer care as easy and successful as possible."
With this collaboration, Amita will also become part of the Syapse Learning Health Network, within which healthcare providers around the world share real-world data to improve patient care.
